Wirtgen China and the Research Institute of Highways signed a framework agreement

On Monday November 17, 2008, Wirtgen China and the Research Institute of Highways, under the leadership of the Ministry of Communications, signed a framework agreement to enlarge and broaden the exchange of knowledge between both road construction experts. The focus of the program is to strengthen cooperation in technical exchanges and to facilitate the development and application of asphalt recycling, including hot and cold recycling for asphalt pavement and other foam bitumen technology.

As Wirtgen is a specialist in the development of cold and hot recycling technology for asphalt pavement as well as foam bitumen and the Research Institute of Highways is itself a specialist in asphalt, asphalt mix and the application of road engineering, both parties will generate great benefit out this value added cooperative agreement,” Wirtgen China and the Research Institute of Highways said. Both parties shall continue with closer cooperation on the research and development and promotion of new products and technology in China and the Asia market,” they said.

The agreement again shows Wirtgen China’s strong interest and will in participating with all efforts to support the construction of safe and environmentally friendly infrastructure in China.
