Wirtgen Group at bauma: 4 strong brands, 75 exhibits and 10 world premieres

Impressive appearance of the Wirtgen Group at bauma 2010: the family-owned group of companies will present itself and its strong brands Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm and Kleemann on 9,080 square metres in the outdoor area. The Wirtgen Group is the number One worldwide in the field of mobile machinery for road construction and road rehabilitation.

Visitors can look forward not only to a representative cross-section of the comprehensive product portfolio offered by the four specialized Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm and Kleemann brands. The Wirtgen Group will also present ten product world firsts, including the new generation of cold milling machines from Wirtgen, the largest road paver from Vögele, new pneumatic-tyred rollers from Hamm and innovative impact crushers from Kleemann. Additional highlights that will interest all experts in the field are the Technology Pavilions of the four brands, which will demonstrate the latest developments and trends in application technology. Streumaster and Betek, the Wirtgen Group’s system partners, will also be present on the stand, displaying their solutions produced exclusively for the Wirtgen Group in the fields of binding agent spreaders and point-attack cutting tools.

The comprehensive programme of around 75 bauma exhibits is impressive proof once again of the Wirtgen Group’s technology leadership in its two main business areas. With its “Road Technologies” and renowned Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm brands, the Wirtgen Group offers market-leading solutions for mobile machines in new road construction and road rehabilitation. The “Mineral Technologies” line of business, which comprises Wirtgen and Kleemann brand products, covers technologies for the mining and processing of useful minerals and mineral raw materials.

First time: Kleemann on Wirtgen Group exhibition stand

The four strong brands of the Wirtgen Group will be present on a joint exhibition stand for the first time at bauma 2010. Kleemann will show as many as five exhibits from its range of mobile screening and crushing plants on 1,400 square metres, including two world firsts from the impact crusher division.

The renowned Kleemann brand was integrated into the Wirtgen Group in 2006, and Kleemann’s products are marketed via the international sales and service network of the Wirtgen Group. The four German sales and service companies of the Wirtgen Group – Wirtgen Augsburg, Wirtgen Windhagen, Wirtgen Hamburg and Wirtgen Zwickau – will also be directly marketing the Kleemann products from January 2010. Kleemann GmbH has recently moved into its new production plant at the Göppingen location. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has a total production space of over 35,000 square metres.

Investments in German main plants signify continuity

Being a sound and financially strong family business, the Wirtgen Group has systematically continued to invest in its German main plants in 2008 and 2009. The new drum plant at Hamm AG was completed in 2008. The new plant for special-purpose machinery at Wirtgen GmbH’s Windhagen location was put into service at the beginning of January 2009, and Kleemann GmbH moved into the newly built main plant in Göppingen at the end of 2009. Building operations at the new main plant of Joseph Vögele AG in Ludwigshafen are in full swing. The world’s most modern plant for the production of road pavers covering a floor space of 37 hectares will be fully operational by the fourth quarter of 2010. The Wirtgen Group thus continues to utilize all strategic options enabling it to emerge from the present economic crisis stronger and to increase the efficiency of both the main plants and the entire sales organisation. In 2009, the Wirtgen Group has generated a consolidated total turnover of 1.18 billion euros.
