BAUMA SHANGHAI 2008: Wirtgen Group presents its strong brands Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm with several product innovations

The Chinese and international customers from Asia will have the opportunity of looking at over a dozen machines and products from the companies of the Wirtgen Group on the more then 1,500 m2 large stand in the Hall EII, Booth 2136/2436 . The internationally successful construction equipment manufacturers Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm will present all relevant product lines at Bauma Shanghai 2008.

The Wirtgen Group is at the starting grid with a broad range of new products for both the new construction of roads and the rehabilitation of existing pavements, asking customers for their continued trust.

Product innovations from the Windhagen headquarters of Wirtgen GmbH include the powerful cold milling machine W 150 with milling drum assemblies of 1.20 m, 1.30 m or even 1.50 m milling width to ensure that customers benefit from maximum flexibility in everyday operation on the job site. The W 150 offers a maximum milling depth of up to 32 cm.

The Mannheim based specialists for road pavers, Vögele AG, will present the machines of their paver generation dash-2 at Shanghai Bauma as well as the new Super 1800-2 SJ (Spray Jet) for placing thin layer asphalts.

Roller manufacturer Hamm AG from Tirschenreuth focuses on the small rollers as well as the best know oscillation technology.

The models of the innovative small HD series to be exhibited at Shanghai Bauma include the HD 8 and HD 10C and for the Oscillation the HD O 120V.

Wirtgen GmbH

In the sector of cold milling technology, the world market leader will present a selection of 7 different milling machines of its program of 15 different milling machine models that is unique in the world. Most popular machine sizes will be represented on the stand. Wirtgen GmbH’s expertise in the highly developed cutting technology for milling machines, recyclers and surface miners will be communicated to the visitors by presenting the entire range of cutting systems: For several decades, Wirtgen has offered customers the full range of key components in well-proven design and is working intensively on the further improvement of the systems: Cutting tools, toolholder systems, milling drums and the patented quick-change system for milling drums FCS (Flexible Cutter System) will be presented and explained in great detail.

The best seller of cold recycling and soil stabilization will be represented by the cold recycler and soil stabilizer WR 2500 S.

Like all Wirtgen recyclers of its class, it is equipped with microprocessor-controlled injection systems for water, bitumen emulsion, foamed bitumen or cement slurry: a feature allowing customers to choose from a large variety of options for in-situ cold recycling.

An innovative concrete slipform paver will be at the show this year as well: The SP 150 convinces as a compact, manoeuvrable and sturdy slipform paver and is Wirtgen’s response to various customer requests. The machine has been designed for offset applications only, and it offers both specialists and newcomers in the field a broad range of possible applications in the lower paver segment as well as an optimum price-performance ratio. The SP 150 is a flexible machine capable of working with the mould mounted either on the left or on the right side of the machine. A full range of slipform pavers is now available, comprising 12 different machine models and some 1,000 options.

Joseph Vögele AG:

As the world market leader, Vögele will present out of it range of 16 pavers the S-800, S-1800-2, S-2100-2 and the new S-1800-2 SJ (Spray Jet) When it comes to new developments, VÖGELE always focus on designing machines featuring economical and versatile utilization.The pavers offer many innovations and enhanced performance characteristics. A special highlight is Vögele’s ergonomic and intuitive operating concept ErgoPlus. With the new S-1800-2 SJ VÖGELE now present a cutting-edge concept, ideal not only for paving thin layers on spray seal or tack coat, hot on hot, but also highly interesting for many non-specialized road building companies. The VÖGELE SprayJet Module offers an economical and clean alternative wherever pre-spraying and subsequent paving are required. The concept of the ”Paver with SprayJet Module“ is based on a SUPER 1800-2 of standard design which, after minor modification and addition of a newly developed spray module, can be used as a spray paver. The motif behind this concept was above all economic aspects, as in comparison with other systems, the paver can be converted back to a standard paver in a very short time and used for conventional paving as usual The SUPER 1800-2 with SprayJet Module combines with the AB 500-2 Extending Screed. The screed allows pave widths up to 5m. AB 500-2 is available in the versions TV (with tamper and vibrators) or TP1 (with tamper and 1 pressure bar) for high compaction. Like all VÖGELE screeds, AB 500-2 features electric heating. Screed and emulsion tank are heated independently, so that heating of the emulsion can take place without having to heat the screed.

Hamm AG:

The new articulated tandem rollers of the HD series will make their Asian debut at Shanghai Bauma. The HD 8 (1.5 tons) and HD 10C (1.7 tons) will complete the existing line of small tandem rollers in the lower weight category. Salient details are the one-sided drum suspension and the possibility of displacing the drum. This feature allows the rollers to be driven close up to walls while the driver has a free view of the drum edges at all times.

With the HD O120V, Hamm will present the largest oscillatory roller ever built. With an operating weight of some 12 tons and a working width of 2 m, it offers the ideal performance characteristics to operate on large construction sites. Highlights are the ergonomically designed operator’s platform, which offers optimum all-round view, and the newly developed oscillating drum that is now equipped with four instead of two unbalanced shafts.

Most successful business year of Wirtgen in China

The assembly- sales and service company Wirtgen China, representing the Wirtgen Group in China from its central location in Langfang near Beijing and further offices are in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Xuzhou Xian, Urumqi looks back on the most successful business year since the company’s incorporation: Ulrich Reichert, Managing Director of Wirtgen China, was able to record a particularly positive result for the Wirtgen milling machines of the 0,5m and 2-m class, made possible by the strong commitment of new Chinese milling contractors and existing expressway and highway companies. Wirtgen China has also succeeded in increasing Vögeles market share for asphalt pavers. Hamm’s market shares could also be increased. Wirtgen China’s leading position in the field of cold recycling could be strengthened with the break through of the foamed bitumen technology (GREEN MIX) . Hot recycling of asphalt wearing courses of expressways, highways and country roads is growing ever popular in China resulting in further sales of Wirtgen Remixer 4500 and Wirtgen Preheaters 4500.
